Can I walk in without a booking?

Accepted Answer

We primarily operate on appointments, so walk-ins aren't guaranteed. If we have availability on the day, we'll always do our best to fit you in — but to avoid disappointment, booking ahead is strongly recommended, especially on weekends.

Where are your two shops?

Our Lonsdale Street shop is at 419 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne VIC 3000. Our Hardware Street shop is at 121 Hardware Street, Melbourne VIC 3000. Open Locations in the menu to explore each shop, view its map and find the appropriate booking or enquiry details.

Where can I find your services and prices?

Accepted Answer

Our Services page displays our individual and combined services with their prices. Please check the service details when choosing your appointment, and refer to our Booking Policy for cancellation terms and weekend or public holiday surcharges.

What happens if I'm running late?

Accepted Answer

If you're more than 10 minutes late, your appointment will be treated as a no-show and the full service price will be charged. If you think you'll be a few minutes behind, please contact us as soon as possible and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

We ask for at least 12 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule at no charge. Cancellations with less than 12 hours' notice, no-shows, or arriving more than 10 minutes late will incur a charge of 100% of the service price. This policy exists to protect our barbers' time and ensure fair and timely access for all clients.

Do you charge extra on weekends or public holidays?

Yes — a 10% surcharge applies on weekends, and a 15% surcharge applies on public holidays. These are reflected at checkout when booking.

Absolutely, you can select the barber of your choice. Each member of our team brings their own style and strengths, and every cut at Ikigai is held to the same standard of precision and care.1. How often should I get a haircut?

For most men, every 3–4 weeks keeps a fade or short style looking sharp. If you're wearing a longer or more relaxed cut, you can stretch it to 6–8 weeks. Not sure what works for your style? Ask your barber at your next visit — they'll give you an honest recommendation based on how your hair grows and the look you're maintaining.

How long does a men's haircut take?

Most haircuts are done within 45 minutes. If you're going for a scissors cut, a more complex style, or adding a beard service, allow closer to an hour. We never rush, and we respect your time.
